Better Late Than Never!

Jerry and I were just sitting here talking about how we haven't posted anything on our blog recently. I joined Weight Watchers on December 28th, 2009 in hopes that I would look better on our anniversary than I did the day we got married - and just be healthier! Jerry was telling me I should document my weight loss efforts through our blog, since most of our family reads this!

So far, I have lost 21.4 pounds. I just started going to the gym 3 weeks ago, and I have seen much better results with that! It helps that Jerry, my mom, and a ton of people I work with are trying to lose weight as well! That definitely keeps me motivated. I almost always have an exercise partner.. I am so proud of myself, and it seems most everyone else is proud of me too! I have inspired a lot of people at work to start losing too. It makes me feel amazing!

As far as everything else goes, Jerry and I are really enjoying married life. Jalen is doing well in school at Maiden! He started driving today, so all of you in NC better watch out!!!

This year we have a lot planned! Our one year anniversary is coming up quickly, and we are planning a trip to Washington, D.C. for that, and then in November we are going to Arizona for Thanksgiving! We are especially excited about that! I have a goal for that trip.. I am really looking forward to our family vacations! We haven't had one since Jerry and I got engaged!

Well... All wedding festivities + honeymoon...

Alright... no need to say it.. I'm absolutely horrible at keeping our blog up... After a long time of anticipation, I can finally say that I am Donna Knight!!! It really makes me feel awesome to say that.. I truly love my new family!!! Below are pictures from the pedicure party prior to the rehearsal, the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and the wedding (Thanks Jamie for the pics of the wedding)! Hope you enjoy!!! This is the funniest picture EVER.. Many of you may not know how excited my sis, Amanda was about the chocolate fountain at the rehearsal dinner, but if you look closely you will see her sticking her finger in Jerry's plate of chocolate - we had already ate the fruit, but she just wanted the chocolate... I love her, and miss her so much!!!

Jerry and I just got back from our awesome honeymoon in Jamaica! We got off to a rocky start with the room, but everything was absolutely awesome! We ate, hung out on the beach, ate, showered, napped, ate and slept, and watched a lot of CNN about Michael Jackson, Steve McNair, and the idiot serial killer that was in South Carolina (mostly MJ tho). It was so relaxing and fun!!! We had a massage out on the beach followed by a bottle of champagne. We went on a sunset cruise to Rick's cafe so we could jump off the cliff, but I chickened out - the water was really rough that day, and I kept picturing my body slamming into the side of the cliff on the swim from the boat to Rick's. Because I chickened out, we stayed on the boat, and if any of you know Jerry very well, you know that he gets sea sick - and the boat was seriously rocking!!! Well, he puked all over that freakin' boat!!! I was helpful in getting him water, but when we got back we BOTH laughed about it... Everyone there was so nice about it... I think it was because there were two other people on the boat that started puking before Jerry. The sunset that night was beautiful and we ended up having a really nice dinner that night... Anyway, we had so much fun... Here are some pics below...

It's been a long time....

Well.. It's been a while since I posted a blog... The last time I said I would post some pictures from our family get together and from the hockey game.. Here they are!

Now, onto the new things that are happening in our lives! We got our invitations out!! Also, Friday I went to work, and while I was getting report about my patients one of the nurse practitioners in the NICU told me she needed to talk to me! I thought at first that I was in trouble about something! haha... When I walked back to their break room, everyone yelled "Surprise! It's your bridal shower!" I was in shock! I had no clue what was going on! This was the first time that I really felt like a bride! They got Jerry and I a grill and a ton of grill accessories! I couldn't fit it in my car, so Jerry and I picked it up yesterday!! So, naturally we grilled out last night! Here are some pictures from that!

Yesterday, Jerry and I went to pick out tuxes. We went with a classic black tux. For Jerry, he will be wearing a white vest and a white tie. For everyone else, we went with a black vest and a pink tie. I think everyone will look really nice. I just can't wait until our day is here!

I am leaving Thursday to go to Vermont for my little sister's wedding! I can't wait! I've never been to Vermont! Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful week! Hope to see you all at the wedding!
